Documentary Night: A Rough History of Disbelief

Hi all,

This week’s event will be a showing of Jonathan Miller’s 2004 insightful view into the history of Atheism – from the Ancient Greeks to the Modern Era. It also illustrates that the notions of God were long challenged before the advent of the scientific method and further demonstrates how the concept of God can be refuted on Logical grounds alone – a systematic framework often neglected in contemporary Science vs. Religion debates. The documentary is in three hour-long sections, so we will only be watching the first two.

It should be particularly appealing to philosophers and historians, so feel free to bring along friends to the event. This will take place in our regular room (Nuffield Theatre, Lecture Room B) at 7pm on Monday (11th November). As per usual, we will head off to the pub afterwards to discuss the film/socialise.

Hope to see you there,
Sam – AtheistSoc President
