Non-Prophet Week Run

Hi all,

The AHS (National Federation of Atheist, Humanist and Secularist Student Societies) have been running Non-Prophet Week since Monday. This is a nationwide fundraising attempt – the idea is to raise as much money as possible for secular charities, competing between societies as to how much money we can raise and the most imaginative ways of doing it. It’s also to show that the religious do not have the monopoly on charity work!

As our Atheist Society’s contribution, I have been training since January 3rd to run 6 miles, which I will be attempting tomorrow. Before the AHS announcement about Non-Prophet Week, I had never done any running before… in fact, I have always hated exercise in general, so the idea of me running has been amusing my friends and family for the past month and a half! I am asking for sponsorship, which all goes to the charity Medecins Sans Frontieres (Doctors Without Borders), who are a secular humanitarian medical aid charity and an amazing cause.

If you would like to sponsor me, I have a JustGiving page at and I will be eternally grateful! It takes less than a minute to donate and you can give any amount you like, even a few pennies is greatly appreciated (I know how many of you are poor students!)

Thanks in advance,
